What a star! Chinese vlogger finds internet fame after transforming herself into Western celebrities with incredible makeup skills
A Chinese vlogger has wowed her viewers by turning herself into Western celebrities with makeup.
Wang
Jiawen, a 23-year-old makeup artist, spent four hours on one look as
she live-streamed her makeup transformation videos on Chinese social
media platform, including Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and more.
The makeup guru, also known as Shan Shan, showcased her skills in tutorials in her channel, which has already amassed over 100,000 viewers in a month.
Wang told Pear Video that she had spent three years learning professional makeup and worked as a makeup artist for another three years.
'It
was my Katy Perry makeup transformation that got me into stardom. I
received a lot of supportive comments, then I started to study how to do
makeup transformation,' she said.
The 23-year-old, from
Chengdu of Sichuan, southwest China, said she did about nine celebrities
looks in a month and regularly live-streamed it on Dou Yin, a
video-sharing platform similar to Musical.ly.
'I spent four hours to complete one look but I am very happy and excited while doing so,' Ms Wang said.
Footage shows her contouring her face and re-shaping her eyebrow as she preens and shapes into Beyoncé's felines features.
Another clip captures her drawing a deep double eyelid similar to Kat Dennings in 2 Broke Girls.
The finished look requires false eyelashes, highlighter and coloured contact lenses.
Web users commented on her
Weibo account, a Chinese equivalent of Twitter, of her impressive looks
on grasping Westerner's facial features.
'You
don't have to fly across the world to see Rihanna or Taylor Swift,
because there is one in our country!' wrote 'tingninshuo'.
A few other web users said to subscribe Ms Wang's channel and watch her makeup tutorials.
